Educational Field Trips

Louisville Water Company opened WaterWorks Museum at Louisville Water Tower Park in March, 2014 with the idea of creating a venue to provide hands on education for school groups. Since then, we’ve greeted more than 4,000 students and teachers as they’ve walked through our doors into a world that brings water to life.

Your visit to WaterWorks Museum combines cross-content learning at the site of the National Historic Landmark. Included in this visit is time in the museum, a guided tour of the working facilities and an on-site lesson. Students will learn the story behind every glass of drinking water.

Some of the available lessons are:

  • The Ohio River as a Resource
  • Water Works: A Comparison of Water Usage
  • The Fabulous Filter
  • Clear or Cloudy: Erosion and Weathering
  • Drink to Your Health: The Benefits of Water
  • Water Quality and Treatment
  • Why a Water Company?
